Eyebrow Tilt
The slope from the inner brow to its arch region, averaged across both brows.
What is measured
The calculation
Mean angle of inner-brow midpoint to arch midpoint against horizontal

Follow the measurement
Dots mark the landmarks. Lines show how the measurement is taken.
Why it matters
Brow inclination frames the eye and changes the direction of the upper-face contours. The tail can curve down while the measured inner-to-arch line still rises.
- Lower: a flatter or downward inner-to-arch direction.
- Higher: a stronger upward inner-to-arch direction.
Where the idea comes from
FaceIQ adaptation
Brow-shape preferences have been studied using edited portraits. FaceIQ measures an inner-to-arch angle; the cited study tested apex placement rather than validating this exact slope. [1]
A worked example
A brow rises 5 units over a 35-unit horizontal run: arctan(5 ÷ 35) ≈ 8.1°.
Example values explain the calculation. They are not a target range and are not measurements of the schematic above.

A contemporary assessment of facial aesthetic preferencesCompared ratings of edited brow and nose features on four female models. The authors emphasized individual facial harmony; this is context for feature relationships, not a test of every brow metric.
